I am all for brunch cocktails, as you already know, and I am also all for fall cocktails. The spices and the deeper, fuller flavors popular during this season are some of my all-time favorites of the entire year. It seems like brunch and fall cocktails wouldn’t mix, but that’s because so many fall-inspired cocktails are heavier or served warm. This cocktail is light and fruity with just enough of a touch of autumn making it perfect to serve alongside brunch.
What you’ll need:
4 oz apple ginger hard apple cider
1 oz gruner veltliner
1 oz riesling
Place ice in the bottom of a wine glass. Pour in the wine and top with the cider. Stir lightly and garnish with the orange twist to serve.
Note: I was lucky enough to find a blend of gruner veltliner and dry riesling, but one ounce of each is just fine too.
