Coffee Banana Protein Shake

After a long weekend of partying and barbecues (read: Memorial Day Weekend), it’s important to give your body a chance to recover. This doesn’t necessarily mean you ought to do a cleanse of some sort. Instead, by putting good, clean energy and protein into your body, you’ll feel far better by the week’s end. This smoothie combines 20+ grams of protein, as well as clean energy from the coffee and the sugar and potassium in the banana. Plus, it tastes like a coffee milkshake.

What you’ll need:
1/2 cup black iced coffee
1/2 banana
1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
1/4 cup skim milk

Break up the banana and place it in the bottom of the blender. Pour over the coffee, the milk, and protein powder. Add ice, blend until smooth, and serve in a 12-ounce glass with a straw.
