Protein powder is a pretty major component of my day-to-day diet largely because of its benefits, but also because of its versatility. I don’t grow tired of it easily because there are just so many recipes to choose from when using the powder. One of my favorites is the protein shake however classic it may be.
What you’ll need:
1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
3/4 cup almond milk
Pour the scoop of protein powder into a blender followed by the almond milk. Break up the banana a bit and drop that in along with the ice. Sprinkle a couple of dashes of cinnamon over the top and blend.
I used CVS brand vanilla whey protein powder, which is a great deal. The big tub cost me $20, which is nearly half the price of the tubs of the same size that I’ve previously purchased from other companies. One scoop is 150 calories and 26 grams of protein.
This is a pretty easy shake because there are very few ingredients. It’s a heavy shake in that it has more calories than most others I make due to the combination of protein powder and a banana, but this combination will also leave you feeling fuller for longer due to both the protein and the cinnamon. Cinnamon also works to stave off hunger, which is why I use it in this recipe. While this drink is calorically heavy, it has a very light and mild flavor, which I like because I don’t feel like I have to fight myself to finish it like I sometimes do with other protein shakes.
