It’s been a while since I made a breakfast smoothie and really, what better way to kick off the weekend? As I’ve mentioned before, it’s important to stay on track even through the weekend in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. So, if you are planning to head out for pizza and beer Saturday night, having a hearty breakfast smoothie in the morning or as an afternoon snack will help curb your hunger throughout the rest of the day.

What you’ll need:
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 banana
1-2 tbsp plain Greek yogurt
1 tbsp chia seeds
6-8 almonds
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Ice

Directions:
In a blender, pour in the almond milk, yogurt, and almonds. Blend and add in the rest of the ingredients. Blend again and serve in a tall glass. Add more cinnamon to taste if you wish.

If your blender has a smoothie option, use it. It will definitely help get the right consistency. This smoothie is a great way to eat light while getting in clean protein, and natural sugars, leaving you feeling full and energized. Maybe enough to get something accomplished this weekend?
