Apple picking season is dwindling, but I managed to get my hands on a few dozen last weekend. Smoothies are one of the best uses for apples because they add a subtle sweetness as well as good carbohydrates to help keep us full. Halloween is just around the corner and I know that means a weekend packed with drinking. Make this breakfast smoothie to help stay healthy through the busy weekend.
What you’ll need:
2 overripe bananas, sliced
1 empire apple, peeled and sliced
3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp peanut butter
Add the bananas and peanut butter to a blender. Pour in the almond milk and top off with the apple and ice cubes. Blend until smooth and serve in two eight ounce glasses or one 16 ounce glass.
