Fig Smoothie

Fig Newtons are high in demand in my household, but because they aren’t the healthiest of snacks we tend not to buy them. Recently, in an attempt to curb her cravings, my mother picked up a jar of fig butter. As it turns out, the consistency is quite like the filling of a Fig Newton, so I thought I’d try making a smoothie using it.

This smoothie tastes just enough like a Fig Newton to satisfy your cravings, too, but it also contains potassium, nut protein, and milk protein. It’s the perfect breakfast when you’re on the go on a Monday morning.

What you’ll need:
1 banana
1 cup almond milk, unsweetened
1 tbsp nonfat Greek yogurt
1 tsp fig butter
Dash of cinnamon

Combine the ingredients in a blender and whip until smooth. Serve in a 12-ounce glass.
