Mixed Berry Cream of Wheat

It may finally be March, but the winter still seems to be dragging on around here. If you are feeling like you cannot possibly consume another bowl of oatmeal, yet it is too damn cold outside for a bowl of Cheerios, then perhaps it’s time to consider a heaping bowl of warm cream of wheat. It’s been my life’s experience that cream of wheat, also known as farina, is the reject of hot cereals. Thanks to my mother, though, it has always been my cereal of choice, hot or cold.

What you’ll need:
1/3 cup cream of wheat
1 cup almond milk
1 cup water
1/4 cup walnuts, crushed
1 tsp cinnamon
Clover honey
Strawberries, chopped

Bring the cream of wheat, milk, water, and cinnamon to a boil. Stir, add in the walnuts, and let simmer until it thickens.

Then, serve in bowls. Stir in the honey to taste and top with the berries.
