Jalapeno Crab Dip

February is kind of a strange month when it comes to food. Aside from Valentine’s Day, there’s not too much of anything interesting going on in produce. People are sick of winter and have already exhausted various holiday party foods and hot chocolate recipes.

I wouldn’t exactly call jalapeno crab dip sexy, but if you’re throwing a party for Valentine’s Day this weekend, consider serving this dip. It’s just the right amount of sweet and spicy and it takes less than 10 minutes to put it together.

What you’ll need:
6 oz crabmeat, drained
2 tbsp cream cheese
1 tbsp light mayo
1/8 cup jalapeno peppers, chopped
1/4 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
1/2 tsp garlic, crushed

Put the crab in a large mixing bowl and stir in the cream cheese, mayonnaise, pepper, lemon juice, and garlic. Let chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

Then, serve on sandwiches, alongside your crudite, or with pita chips.
