I usually go for the savory side of grilled cheese, but this sweeter sandwich is so good I can hardly resist. The combination of preserves and cream cheese takes me back to my childhood when I’d eat cream cheese and jelly sandwiches, but the fresh pear and swiss cheese makes this a sandwich even adults can enjoy.
What you’ll need:
1 onion roll, sliced in half
1 slice swiss cheese
1/2 tbsp cream cheese, whipped
1/2 tbsp Bonne Maman mixed berry preserves
1/2 bosc pear, sliced
Heat some butter in a skillet.
Put the sandwich together by piling on the cream cheese, pear slices, swiss cheese, and preserves. Close the sandwich and butter the outsides of the bread.
Fry in the skillet until the cheese melts and the bread is browned on both sides. Slice in half and serve.
