Roasted nuts are typically served at holiday parties, but they are most often served coated in sugar and salt. Instead, I wanted to try something smokier, subtler, and altogether healthier. These were a huge hit with my family the first time I made them, so I intend to serve these all winter long.

What you’ll need:
2 cups raw almonds
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp orange peel
1/2 tsp rosemary, dried
1/4 tsp chili powder
Olive oil

Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

In a mixing bowl, combine the cinnamon, orange peel, rosemary, and chili powder. Mix together with a spoon and add in the almonds. Drizzle in a bit of olive oil and combine until the almonds are lightly coated.

Spread the almonds out on a cookie sheet and roast for 20 minutes, turning halfway through. Let cool and serve in a bowl.
