One of the best ways to get in an extra serving of fruits and vegetables is to combine them with your post-workout protein smoothie. Instead of simply adding protein powder and water to a shaker bottle, combine that same protein powder with spinach and pear slices. This one in particular is a great meal replacement or snack because it has a 1:1 carbohydrate to protein ratio.
What you’ll need:
1 bartlett pear, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup spinach
3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
Combine all ingredients in a blender. Pulse until smooth and serve in a 12-ounce glass.
