To further celebrate Independence Day, I also made red, white, and blue sugar cookies! These aren’t too difficult to make and are great as dessert for a large group.

Makes approximately 20 cookies.

What you’ll need:
2 1/2 cups bleached all-purpose flour
2 sticks butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1 package red, white, and blue M&Ms

Directions:
In a bowl, beat the flour, butter, and sugar with an electric mixer. Then, add in the vanilla and the egg and beat again.

Add in M&Ms and scatter them around in the mixture. Then, with your hands make the cookies and place them on a cookie sheet. Bake for 8-12 minutes at 350. Let the cookies cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

When it comes to the M&Ms, you can use as many or as few as you’d like. We made them so that there would be about 4-5 M&Ms per cookie.

Enjoy the holiday weekend!
