Welcome to Third Eye Weekly — a podcast hosted by BTR’s Matthew DeMello and Jennifer Smith for under-reported news, the spoken word, and radical conversation to keep you informed.
On today’s show, Taylor Wilson is a 19-year-old nuclear physicist. He built his first nuclear fusor at 14 and since then, he’s helped the TSA improve their capacity to detect the presence of nuclear weapons at airport security checkpoints. In his interview with BTR’s Timothy Dillon, Wilson chats about his passion for developing cheap, reliable energy for the future and what he feels is the inappropriate stigma surrounding nuclear power.
And after the promotional air raid, Professor Mitchel Resnick is the Director of the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab. He chats with us about developing the latest version of his trailblazing Scratch code, a simplified computer code meant to help introduce young children to the wide world of coding, plus the best ways that technology can be used to enhance education.
Today’s spoken word segments feature the work of Adam Falkner and Buddy Wakefield.
