It’s Child Week on BTR!
In our mile-a-minute, media-saturated culture, how can kids learn to think critically about the media and the news? We examine media literacy integration in K-12 curricula with David Cooper Moore, Program Director for Powerful Voices for Kids. We’ll also check out IndyKids, a progressive newspaper written for kids by kids. IndyKids volunteer and board member Judi Cheng joins us.

Later in the program, is China’s one child per family policy to blame for their dwindling youth population? BTR’s Timothy Dillon asks sociologist and Bowdoin College professor, Nancy Riley.
If you’d like to submit a poem to be played on the show, feel free to send an MP3 to thirdeyeweekly at gmail dot com, but do keep sound quality in mind!
Finally, you can check out an extended version of our segment on IndyKids on our Third Eye Weekly Tumblr page.
So without further ado …
Unfortunately, not one artist we chose for today’s program is on tour, but you should check out the fine records where we found these wonderful songs!
