Today on the Daily Beat, Thursday February 4, 2016: We continue to speak about creating the world’s largest quantum communication network in China.
The man behind the quantum mission is physicist, Jian-Wei Pan. And this year is proving to be a culminating one in Pan’s long, competitive journey to place this satellite in space. In 2001, he established China’s first lab for manipulating quantum properties of photons. It was during that time that he began envisioning the concept of quantum satellite communication from space. At age 41, he was the youngest to be inducted into the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
