Tune in Monday through Friday at 7 p.m. with your host Lisa Autz to hear original reporting on events throughout New York City that speak to greater national and international issues.

Not to mention, we’ll also feature some of BTR’s top tracks.

This week on The Daily Beat: We are looking into the changing landscape of journalism in the digital age. How does investigative, serious reporting have a place in our age of 140 characters or less?

Molly and John Knefel

I speak with both Molly and John Knefel, freelance political, investigative journalists who also host a progressive political podcast together called Radio Dispatch.

Molly and John Knefel are siblings who began their career in comedy but has since taken a turn in the political route. The two combined have written for the likes of Rolling Stone, The Nation, Salon, The New Inquiry, Feministing and more.

Molly, who is also an after-school drama teacher, focuses on education, social justice, criminal justice, gender, and feminism. While John has written about international conflict, political corruption and social justice.

Today on the Daily Beat, Wednesday June 10, 2015: We discuss some of the blurred boundaries of journalism. Building upon yesterday’s topic on information curation, we look at how the re-filtering of information online is being casted as journalism. Molly and John also give advice on getting credible sources and data for investigative work.
