You’ve just tuned in to The Daily Beat!

The Daily Beat is a daily news podcast that gives you 15 minutes of digestible investigations into an ongoing weekly story. Tune in Monday through Friday at 7 p.m. with your host Lisa Autz to hear original reporting on events throughout New York City that speak to greater national and international issues.

Not to mention, we’ll also feature some of BTR’s top tracks.

This week on the Daily Beat we learn about the rally taking place across the country to shine light on corrupt money in politics.

Don’t miss a beat!

Today: Thursday April 9, 2015 – This week’s podcast reviews the New York rally that took place at 26 Federal Plaza in NYC on April 2, 2015. This event is one of 55 being held across the country calling for an Executive Order to shine light on corruption.

April 2 marks the one-year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s McCutcheon v FEC ruling, which further flooded the election system by not eliminating the ability for committees to aggregate funding into giant fundraising committees for candidates.

Today, you can tune into my interview with Jonah Minkoff-Zern, co-director of Public Citizen’s Democracy Is for People campaign.  He helped organize over 50 rallies around the country last week as part of our “shine the light” executive order campaign.

Minkoff-Zern is working to create a movement that will influence President Obama to take executive action to require federal contractors to disclose contribution amounts.
