Have you ever wondered what fashion college is *really* like? On today’s show, for BTR’s College Week, my guest is Parsons design student Jaclyn Barr. Parsons was the first school in the U.S. to offer programs in design, and boasts some seriously prestigious fashion alumni including Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford, Isaac Mizrahi, Lela Rose, Anna Sui, and Alexander Wang (to name just a few!) Jaclyn is in her second year at the school, and on today’s show, she shares about what got her interested in fashion, how she learned to sew, what it’s like to study fashion at Parsons and what makes Parsons unique in comparison to other fashion programs, and some of the current trends hitting the sidewalks of Brooklyn.
Plus, I’ve got a playlist packed with new and exciting music, including the latest from Richmond artist Matthew E. White, London based singer-songwriter Emmy the Great, and Puerto Rican musician/producer AJ Davila. So tune in and study up on style – it’s Sew & Tell on BreakThru Radio!

Odds & Ends
– I usually love winter, but this year I’m all about spring and already looking forward to the return of green grass! When it comes back, I’ll be ready with this beautiful watercolor nail polish look which I discovered via one of my favorite lifestyle blogs, Cup of Jo.
– Speaking of spring… I just got this shirt from Gap & can’t wait to wear it!
– Check out the dramatic, orchestral, experimental electronica from David Block by sampling “Embrace,” his latest release as The Human Experience.
