There’s binge watching, binge drinking, binge eating, but what about binge shopping? This week on Sew & Tell, I’m joined by former model, fashion editor and author Avis Cardella, who shares her experience with fashion addiction in her 2010 book Spent: Memoirs of a Shopping Addict. On today’s show, Avis talks about the seductive power of fashion magazines and media, how she came to recognize her shopping habits and patterns as addiction, her self-directed road to recovery, how the culture of her new home in Paris has helped her maintain a healthier perspective on fashion, and more.

Plus, a playlist chock-full of great new fall releases including sneak previews of the upcoming sophomore LPs from both Czech singer-songwriter Marketa Irglova and Connecticut native, Northern California transplant Lia Ices, as well as more music off “Madman,” next week’s buzzy release from Sean Rowe. All that plus some NYFW chatter and more ahead this hour, so join us as we binge on great radio, with Sew & Tell on BTR!

Fashion hauls, like this one by From Head To Toe, might encourage binge shopping and rely heavily on fast fashion brands
