In keeping with BTR’s Tour Week, I have a guest on today’s Sew & Tell who will help you stay stylish (and organized) on the road. Noah Guy is the founder & designer behind the U.S.-made, San Francisco-based line Joshu + Vela. Joshu + Vela embodies all the any travel bag should be, in a myriad of sizes and purposes: from weekender to wallet, Noah’s designs have you covered in conscientious, practical style. On today’s show, you’ll hear what Noah learned about construction while working for Levi’s, the meant-to-be resurrection story of Joshu + Vela, the challenges and rewards of Noah’s commitment to make his product in the USA, from U.S.-sourced materials, and the beautifully dynamic quality of the leather Noah uses to create Joshu + Vela bags.

I’ve also got some great music on the show from artists like Dawes, Lia Ices, and Jenny Wilson, along with brand new tracks from Deer Tick, Golden Suits, and Julia Holter – PLUS travel style & packing tips in today’s Odds & Ends!! So much good stuff on the show today – just tune in, turn it up, and let BTR get you ready for your next vacay (before summer ends… shhhhh!!)

Odds & Ends
*An important, insightful follow-up from Ecouterre on industry changes (and lack thereof) in the wake of the Bangladesh factory collapse.
*A few major brands announced new initiatives to manufacture in the U.S. this week, including Lucky Jeans! J. Crew, who already has a Made in the USA menswear section, announced a new collection this week that will benefit NYC’s High Line park. However, weirdly, sadly, these designs will not be made in NYC, or even the USA. What do you think? Is their USA menswear section just for show? Or do you see signs of genuine progress?
*Some solid packing tips from PopSugar, plus a great list of destinations and on-the-road accessory tips from Daily Candy’s regular Travel Tips feature!
