It’s January, and if we’re being honest, most all of us are feeling the effects of holiday overindulgence. Thank goodness, then, that BTR is taking this week to focus on health! And here on Sew & Tell, I have New York’s premier esthetician and skin care guru, Joanna Vargas, to tell us about her latest treatments, products, and tips that will help you achieve a natural, healthy glow, and turn back the clock a bit on your skin.
Joanna’s ambitions in photography brought her to New York, where she soon discovered a passion for skin care instead. She went on to study with top estheticians world-wide, and soon, Joanna’s own technique and product developments placed her in their ranks. A celebrity favorite, Joanna Vargas salon offers multiple non-invasive skincare treatments, as well as a line of natural and organic products. On today’s show, Joanna will share the details of her path from photography to facials, some of the mechanics behind her technologically advanced and revolutionary methods, and a few practical tips on how to maintain and protect beautiful skin.
Plus, a playlist that features one of the first new indie releases of 2013, the upcoming sophomore album from Nightlands, along with tracks from Norwegian singer-songwriter Sandra Kolstad, Vermont trio Mountain Man, Midnight Juggernauts, Milagres, and more. So turn up the volume, settle back with a couple cucumber slices on your eyes, and get this year started off with your best face forward!

*Resort 2013 collections are now in retail! If you’re in the market, Harper’s gives their take on the best-of here.
*Interested in adding some green juice power to your diet? Check out Gwenyth Paltrow’s own go-to recipe for a healthy glow!
*My own favorite skin care power tool…
*Last but not least, a great compilation from R29 of beautiful vintage dresses, available from a variety of fantastic online second-hand and vintage retailers!
