This week we’re talking about the Unity Tour that Bernie Sanders and new DNC Chair Tom Perez have embarked on, and what their rejection of reproductive rights as a fundamental part of the progressive platform means for American women. Later we are joined by Olivia Harrison, a writer for female-centric platform Refinery29, to talk about queefing and other aspects of women’s bodies that have been ostracized as “gross.” This newly relevant bit aired on a previous episode of my former podcast, “Biology of the Blog,” and can be found here. If you’re interested, also check out my piece “Let’s Talk About Queefs,” all about the all-female Ghostbusters reboot and its infamous queef joke.
The connection? America needs to get its act together and remember that women’s bodies are not alien bodies, but normal, functioning human bodies that deserve every bit of respect and autonomy that male bodies receive.
