Yay, you’re back! Welcome to BTRtoday’s Discovery Corner podcast brought to you by Levi’s.
Tijuana Panthers is the surf-rocking, punk band we’ve all been waiting for!
Their bluesy take on surf and fast paced punk rock melodies create songs that stir-up everyone! Their latest album “Poster” is their best one yet. With matured sounds and heartbreaking lyrics, the listener can really tell that Tijuana Panthers is either ahead of the music-craze curve or they are the ones who create it.

On this weeks Discovery Corner we catch up with Daniel Michicoff, bassist of Tijuana Panthers. When we get him on the phone he’s at the gym working on his cardio. We take this opportunity to use our interview as his inspiration while we learn about the band’s creative process, history, and future.

Currently, they are working on writing new songs to put out another full-length album. Michicoff says they currently have enough new material to fill-up an EP. First, they’re playing small shows around the U.S. before heading to conduct an European tour. Their most recent show was in San Francisco, and they were able to share a stage with the well-known punk band The Damned.
They’ve been around for eight years now and love to collaborate-in fact, for Poster, Phil Shaheen, drummer for Tijuana Panthers, worked on the album artwork with Matt Maust from Cold War Kids. These young pretty-boy punk rockers not only expertly know the ropes of the music scene, but they play out of passion and love for music, which can be hard to come by these days.

“We’ve played Coachella, we’re on the radio, we’ve been to Europe,” Michicoff tells BTRtoday about hitting all the milestones for a band in the U.S. “Now we just keep doing it because we love it.”
