This week on Discovery Corner I’m featuring New York, NY “metal-ish” band From Below! You know me, I like anything that has to do with Satan so I jumped at the opportunity to speak with them. They’re a product of the magical online world that is Craigslist, as really none of the members knew each other before meeting up at a bar in Hell’s Kitchen (gotta make the first meeting public!) They last released the sprawling epic No Gods, No Monsters in 2013 and are still promoting it the benefit shows they frequently play. The guys have an interesting tale about one such event that occurred in Atlantic City, NJ. I spoke with lead vocalist Cero Cartera and lead guitarist Tom Hoy in the studio about their standards of the venues they play in, their trials and tribulations at forming a band on Craigslist, and what the album title is in reference to. Let’s go straight to hell!
