This week on the show I’m featuring Freya Wilcox, the Aussie-born, Brooklyn-based punk/blues solo singer-songwriter! That enough modifiers for ya? Technically, she likes to call herself a blues and punk-influenced pop singer but who’s counting? The music I’ll be playing comes from her debut EP, Dirt Music, which is just Freya with an acoustic guitar but she’s since added a backing band, The Howls. She came from a town outside of Brisbane to New York looking for *~luv~* and…a job but she’s got all that now, however she’s still without a green card. She came down to the studio and we discussed the intricacies of Australian working visas, the late influence Brody Dalle had on her, and the Best Friends Art Collective. That’s not a knife, THIS is a knife!
