This week on Discovery Corner I’m featuring So Brown, a blues-influenced solo musician based out of Brooklyn though originally from Houston, TX and Mobile, AL respectively. So has a very confusing name when trying to start a sentence “So, when was it about that…” but he gives me the background of the name having grown up as a transgender/androgynous youth. So came into the studio to speak with me about what growing up in Houston was like not fitting into their rigid gender spectrums, where that “outsider” perspective takes hold in the music, and the meaning behind her debut album Point Legere.
