This week on the show I’m featuring Ann Arbor, MI-based band Orpheum Bell! They are what they call “Country & Eastern” which is the combination of American country and the sounds of Eastern Europe which blend together seamlessly. They last released the dynamic The Old Sisters’ Home in 2012 though they assure me they’re working on new music. They are a band of multi-instrumentalists though “multi” doesn’t even do them justice as the amount of instruments they play is astounding. I spoke with lead singer Aaron Klein and double bassist Serge van der Voo about how they met, their uninvolvement with Gogol Bordello, and the resurgence of Detroit. Couple of interesting fellas!
