This week on Discovery Corner I’m featuring the London-based retro-soul group Ephemerals, fronted by a man named Wolfgang Valbrun and lead by a guitarist named Hillman Mondegreen. They were formed after Mondegreen’s departure from his previous group, Hannah Williams & the Tastemakers. They most recently released the debut LP Nothin’ Is Easy which is essentially songs he had written for the Tastemakers but used instead with Valbrun for Ephemerals. We discussed Sherlock Holmes and his British influence, the predicted short shelf of the band, and the allure behind Wolfgang Valbrun. Cheerio!
