BTR Sports with Sam, Kory and Kristy is a sports show focusing on more than just the results and Brett Favre. Each week we take an in-depth look at a topic from the world of sport from a broader, cultural angle. This week three of us break down some current events including Rutgers’ move to the Big 10, this year’s MLB Hall of Fame Ballot and a new dormitory for Kentucky basketball players. We also look at specialization in sport and ask when kids should focus on one sport exclusively and if the current trend of specialized positions across all sports is a good or bad thing.

Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens—two players with careers linked to steroids—are on this years’ Hall of Fame ballot. Should they and others like them be voted into the hall?

Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari has revolutionized the recruiting game in college sports, the most recent example a brand new dormitory built for his Kentucky players. Could this move somehow be beneficial to college sports overall?

High School football players practicing. How young should kids specialize in one sport? Could specialization actually hurt their development in the long-term?

Will we ever see a two-sport athlete like Deion Sanders again? Not likely.
