Welcome to Biology of the Blog! This week, we chat with Steve Dublanica, the original harassed waiter who started the blog Waiter Rant in 2004 to chronicle the daily abuses he underwent while serving tables in New York. Steve originally wrote anonymously, appearing on talk shows and Fox News in the shadows. In 2008, Steve turned the blog into a book of the same name, and at it’s Borders release party revealed his true identity. The book became a NY Times Bestseller and Steve appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Today Steve writes less about waiting tables — as he’s long retired from the position — and more about life in general, but his quirky, edgy voice continues to captivate his audience and keep us laughing.
