Laura Krasnow is a Pittsburgh-based artist whose work blurs the lines between art, science and technology. Via the medium of photography she constructs recollections of time and placeforcing the viewer to look beyond the obvious, to be present and aware of the physical and spiritual light within the subtleness and to reveal the essence beyond the normal visual spectrum.

Laura received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute at Chicago and her BFA from the State University of New York at Albany.

Awards include a fellowship from the Pittsburgh Filmmakers/Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, the Lizzy Wetzel Choice Award, The L. Jeffrey School of Film Preservation Fellowship and a research fellowship from the University of Southern California.

Her Sketchbook Project has been exhibited at institutions such as the Whitney Museum of American Art, Brooklyn Art Library, Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art and Pioneer Works in Brooklyn.
