Dana Levy was born in Tel Aviv Israel and currently lives and works in New York. She holds an MA in Electronic Imaging from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Scotland, and a BA from Camberwell College of Art in London.
She has had solo shows at Rosenfeld Gallery (2004, Tel Aviv), the Haifa Museum of Art (2004, Haifa), Tavi Dresdner Gallery (2008, Tel Aviv), Habres and Partner Gallery (2009, Vienna), Nicelle Beauchene Gallery, (2010, NYC), The Center for Contemporary Art (2012, Tel Aviv), Loop Art Fair (2012, Barcelona), Ron Mandos Gallery (2012, Amsterdam), the Petach Tikva Museum of Art (2014, Petach Tikva), and the Israel Museum (2015, Jerusalem)
Selected group exhibitions include Museum on the Seam, Jerusalem (2006, 2010), ‘Open Plan Living’ (2008), curated by Andrew Renton at the Helena Rubinstein Pavilion, Tel Aviv, ‘Lush Life’ (2010), curated by Franklin Evans and Omar Lopez-Chahoud at Invisible Exports, NYC, ‘Unnatural’ (2012), curated by Tami Ketz Freiman at the Bass Museum of Art, Miami, ‘Magic Lantern: Recent Acquisitions in Contemporary Art’ (2012) at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem, and ‘The Compromised Land’ (2013), curated by Lilly Wei and Helaine Posner at the Neuberger Museum, NY.
Her works have been screened at various Film Festivals including: Tribeca Film Festival, Rotterdam Film Festival, Hamburg Short Film Festival (where she won the 2006 Jury Award), Oberhausen Festival, Impakt Festival, Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin/Madrid, Chicago Underground Film Festival, among others.
In 2008 she received the Young Israeli Artist Award, and in 2010 she won the Dumbo Arts Festival Best Studio Award. In 2013 she was awarded the Beatrice Kolliner Award from the Israel Museum.
She has participated in several residencies such as 2009-2010 Triangle Arts Association (NYC), 2011 Art Omi (NY), 2011 I-park (CT), 2012-2013 LMCC (NYC), 2014 Wave Hill (NYC), and 2014 Airie (FL).
Her works are in the Israel Museum Collection (Jerusalem), The Petach Tikva Museum Collection (Petach Tikva), The Donald Rothfeld Museum Collection (American University, Washington DC), and other private collections.
