Nana Grizol is an indie folk band based in Athens, Georgia, fronted by Theo Hilton. Their catchy, earnest songs ride the line between folk-punk and indie rock with often playful synths and horns, all tied together by bouncy rhythms underscoring Hilton’s heart-on-the-sleeve honesty. In this “at home” episode the band performs a socially distanced live performance of the song “Autumn.” South Somewhere Else, will be released on June 26 from Arrowhawk Records and Don Giovanni Records. Their powerful blend of guitar and voice uses a strong sense of melody and pop structure, making for a refreshing mix of British soul and Americana. Wintersleep are a Juno Award-winning Canadian indie rock band from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia comprised of Paul Murphy, Loel Campbell, Tim D’Eon, Chris Bell, and Jon Samuel. Well into their third decade of the band, the group has a well-established, rich sound rooted in rock with touches of folk that has kept them sounding fresh and innovative all along. Notably, they pack their extremely hooky songs with poignant lyrics and self-reflective, critical storytelling that brings you in closer on each listen.
