Happy Fourth of July weekend! It may not be exactly the fourth yet, but we are having a fourth extravaganza on the show today, with lots and lots of boom-flavored songs. All that, plus some hip hop and folk and pop. Make sure to stay tuned, and don’t forget to check out BTR on Facebook, Tiwtter, tumblr, Pinterest, and Instagram.
Welcome to the second ever Garbage Garage! It may still be Saturday, but it’s no longer the Saturday Show. It’s the Garbage Garage now, and every show we’ll be playing you an extra half hour of carefully curated music. This week’s theme is San Francisco garage rock. I was thinking of one of my favorites, Ty Segal, when I thought of this theme, and then of course there were so many great Bay Area bands that I didn’t have a chance to fit him in! All the better to hear tracks from the likes of Coachwhips, Bronze, and Sic Alps.
I'm sick and my throat hurts so it's an all-supergroup mixtape today in honor of Super Week on BTR. Tune Up coming Wednesday...
BTR starts off by breakin’ thru to the future on this Back to the Future Day with an appropriate mix in homage to 2015, the films, and the future. Hit new tracks by Vundabar and Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin. Plus, electronica with The Blow, Hot Chip, and Electrolightz as well as back-in-time alt throwbacks from The Apples In Stereo, The Futureheads, and a Delorean. Also in the mix, festival news for The Drums as they help kick off festival season in Melbourne Australia. And the band Diehard pines for a Back to the Future IV. Go back in time with DJRePete to start your Wednesday on BTR!
This week ID schools us on salt and grapefruit. Hanabi is MIA in some Scandinavian country. Let us also remind you of this Norwegian recipe we have covered before. He also decided to stop going to Asian restaurants and headed to Toulouse Petit for some rabbit and papardelle! Then a week later he decided he made a mistake. He relapsed at Lou's Sushi in Sacramento CA. He just can't get enough! Also he subscribed to Nature Box. There's a free trial box. Plus if you use the code “share10off” (share ten off), you get $10 of your second box! We think that's how it works, don't hold us to it... Also Beer.
