Very Fresh is the musical project of Cindy Lou Gooden, a versatile musician who floats around the familiar Ava Luna and Speedy Ortiz orbit of bands. The band’s music is heavily anchored in the sweet verse-chorus-verse 90s territory with just slightly off-kilter, tender melodies. Cindy’s voice is raw and powerful, if deceptively gentle at times in a way that works to counter the punkish rhythms of the music. The band stopped by Serious Business Music in DUMBO, Brooklyn to share some tunes. Very Fresh’s Hey, It’s Me! EP is available now from New Professor Music and Inflated Records.

Guess what? This week’s show is a bit of a grab bag! Meaning, I stick my hand in the bag, pull out a song, and whatever comes out, I MUST play it. Fortunately, everything fits together quite nicely, and it’s all great, warm, fuzzy bedroom pop, and indie rock… DJ Patrick K, you’ve done it again! Congrats!
We are taking it very, very easy this week. Gentle tunes, no rock to speak of. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!
Hot times this week! It’s another rocker! Featuring hit records from the likes of: Dicktations, Company Calls, Heavens to Betsy, Darlingchemicalia, and more more more!!
