Can you believe that 2008 was eight years ago? Today on the show we’re going back in time eight years to see how things have and haven’t changed when it comes to musical trends. And of course, the rest of Garbage Garage is filled with everything and the kitchen sink, from hip-hop to folk to something called cumbia-punk out of East LA! Happy middle of November!! It’s a cool time weather-wise, but it’s NOT a cool time for music! Holy smokes, there was so much good music released this week for the holidays. Amazing. BREAKFAST is super cool, Mark McGuire, is extra chill, and Wx is practically frozen it’s so hot. Yeah, I’m using lots of cold synonyms because the weather’s getting chilly. Don’t take my lame word for it- listen to the show. And don’t forget to check out BTR on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest, and Soundcloud.
It’s BTR’s 10th birthday this week!!! What an amazing accomplishment- we’ve come so far in ten years and most importantly, played so many fantastic new artists for our listeners to discover. In that spirit, for the 10th anniversary we’re starting off the show with all new music, and finishing it up with old favorites that I played when I first started at BTR in 2008 and 2009. And while you’re listening, go onto Facebook and give us a birthday like!
