Happy middle of November!! It’s a cool time weather-wise, but it’s NOT a cool time for music! Holy smokes, there was so much good music released this week for the holidays. Amazing. BREAKFAST is super cool, Mark McGuire, is extra chill, and Wx is practically frozen it’s so hot. Yeah, I’m using lots of cold synonyms because the weather’s getting chilly. Don’t take my lame word for it- listen to the show. And don’t forget to check out BTR on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest, and Soundcloud.
It’s Weirdvember! Actually, it’s not, but there should totally be a national month to celebrate weirdness. Maybe the true weird move is to say that every month it’s weird month. Well, it’s at least weird hour here on BTR, and we’ve got some new tracks coming your way from Shigeto and Joanna Newsom, plus some old favorites from Death Vessel and These Are Powers. Remember that band? They were awesome. Check them out on today’s show!
New music from Joanna Newsome, Pure Bathing Culture, Phantom Horse, and Young Rival.
Hanabi completed their sweep of New Orleans over Halloween weekend and it was a real eat-fest from start to finish. Yes there were several trips to Cafe Du Monde. That’s mandatory. But it was the jazz brunch at Commander’s Palace among others that stole the show. We’re talking bbq shrimp and grits here! The LPG Burger at La Petite Grocery is ridiculous! They have badass shrimp and grits too! If you want to get weird on Magazine st. head over to District Donuts. Not that their food is at all weird. It’s just a really cool thing to say. While Hanabi was out partying, other Hanabi found some Mole Salumi at Salumi Cured Meats. You’re welcome! He also made some beer and bacon pancakes. You’re extra welcome.
Happy November! We’ve got a great show for you today. New tracks from Real Estate’s Martin Courtney, Shigeto, and Pictureplane. And don’t forget to check out BTR on social media- we’ve got great things for you to discover on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, and SoundCloud.
