Shana Falana
Shana Falana is one of our favorite dream-pop artists - currently based in Kingston, New York. Shana and Michael Amari explore darkness and light in their almost-meditative songs, which are illuminated by dazzling visual projections at live shows. During quarantine, Shana brought us into her home and daily life to give us a look at what’s happening in her world while live music isn’t happening. Music: "Go Higher" by Shana Falana Darkest Light is available now from Arrowhawk Records. Listen to the audio podcast for more music and interview.
We've got music, candy talk, and an unsolicited "Friends" opinion.

For this week’s show we put out a call on the internet for anybody interested to call and leave me a message “with your story of the music that’s helping you get thru the fear, anxiety, uncertainty, and isolation and maybe giving you hope right now.” I’ve also put together a playlist on Spotify featuring music by the artists who called in, along with the music they mentioned in their calls. For new music this week, we hear singles and album tracks from Golden Rules The Thumb, Zelma Stone, 2nd Grade, Levitation Room, Next Great American Novelist, A.O. Gerber, Laura Marling, None Of Your Concern, and Varsity - plus a bonus exclusive performance from Poingly (check out Poingly on MD back in October 2019).
