Holiday in The Listening Booth w/surf rock from Honey Cutt, 80s beach electro via Caveboy, & summer folk from Little Shrine and Neko Case!
It’s time for an eclectic two-hour mix of music – broadly in the “indie rock” world for the most part – as we gear up for some more record label features coming down the line. Check out selections from recent label features, new releases, and some tasty finds from the BTRtoday music library, including some usual suspects such as Anna Burch, Waxahatchee, Ghost Funk Orchestra, Jeff Beam, and much more!
It’s been a while since we’ve done a recent music playlist episode, so here it is! Featuring tracks from Activity, Lou Turner, Anna Burch, Deeper, youbet, Kevin Krauter, and more, there’s a lot to love here. Enjoy!
This week we’re kicking off the episode with a preview of the upcoming SAVAK album, Rotting Teeth In The Horse’s Mouth, out April 10th from Ernest Jenning Record Company, complete with a conversation with one of the band’s two primary songwriters, Michael “Jaws” Jaworski. We talk about the band’s process in writing and recording, cover practice spaces in the Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn, and address the uncertainty of releasing music in the midst of the current global health crisis. Later in the show, we check out new music from Citris, Blue Canopy, The Memories, Ada Lea, Dirty Projectors, Ellis, and Waxahatchee, plus a new Shannen Moser track from the Lame-O Records “Compilation For Isolation” – Don’t Stand So Close To Me.
“Spring Foward, Fall Back”  Hate when we start losing light.  Its a sign that things are gonna get cold and dark very soon.  No fear though, 2 hours of indie tunes and double shots this Sunday to light the way!
St. Patrick’s Day vibes in the Listening Booth w/Irish-Indian mashup Delhi 2 Dublin + a jig from the new William Tyler album + more SXSW!
