This week a very on-brand tune from the self proclaimed prince of bhangra, Jazzy B. The beyond segment includes a collaboration with the mighty Asian Dub Foundation and Chillian-French hip-hop phenomena, Ana Tijoux.
Neha Kaka and Parmish Varma team up for a late summer smash, plus the beyond segment takes a cinematic trippy turn with bollywood sampled electronic tunes. Also a classic underground track by once Swaraj Crew producer Juttla.
The Bhangra set begins and ends with tracks from Diljit Dosanjh’s’ latest full length, album, humbly titled “The G.O.A.T.” The beyond set features a new collaboration from New York based artist Madlovely and Rolex Rasathy, and a remix by Indian producer SuReal of Saade Maut’s.
In a world of rapid one-off single deployment, Diljit Dosanjh releases an old-fashioned full length EP. DJ Rekha selects three of their favorite tracks, and does a side by side comparison of Sukshinder Shinda’s classic tune with his updated version released a mere 17 years later. Plus desi drum and bass and breakbeat vibes in the beyond segment.
The vocal versatility Jaz Dhami is on display in this week’s bhangra set while DJ Rekha showcases their favorite tracks from icon British rebel rousing, Asian Dub Foundation’s, first album, Facts and Fictions.
