Which one of us hasn't dreamt of getting away with wearing pajamas 24/7, yet somehow staying stunningly stylish? With the delicate creations from this week's featured designer, you'll be having sweet dreams day and night! Cristina Lynch just launched Mi Golondrina, her line of cotton sleepwear and bedding, this summer, but she's already gained a devoted following with her bedtime fashion. Inspired by her Mexican heritage and its tradition of embroidery, her luxe, feminine, simple pieces are equally at home on the beach, at brunch, or in bed. On today's show, Cristina will talk about her mother's early influence in teaching Cristina about her Mexican cultural heritage, her path from being an econ/theater major to working for Oscar de la Renta to launching her own line, the women in the Oxaca region who embroider each Mi Golondrina piece by hand, and some of her upcoming projects for the label. Plus, a sleep-y playlist full of music that will keep you wide awake, from artists like Deer Tick, Man Man, Iron & Wine, Phosphorescent, and more. So prepare to make your favorite pi's jealous with our elegant Sleep Week feature, here on BTR!

Haaaaaay! Guess what??!! Sew & Tell has its first nail artist on the show today, and she's suuuuper awesome. Ashley Crowe is a Chicago-based freelance nail artist who started a blog called Astrowifey to document her passion for nail art, as she herself learned and experimented in the early days of nail art popularity. Little did she know that her blogging and hobby would soon transition to an incredibly successful career and cult following, but lucky for us, it did! Winner of this year's Refinery29 Nail Art Nation contest, Ashley's bold, expressive work is inspired by pop and contemporary art, rock music, and fashion. On today's show, you'll hear from Ashley about how her passion for nail art became a career, her role in the development of Tipsy Zine, the first U.S.-based lifestyle nail art publication, a few of her nail art role models, and insider tips on some must-have polishes, upcoming trends, and DIY upkeep for healthy nails. All that, plus a playlist mixed with post-punk and atmospherically autumnal music, including tracks from Franz Ferdinand, Man Man, Aisha Burns, Hookworms, and more. So tune in and prepare to nail fall fashion with BTR and Astrowifey!

Today is the Saturday of Awesome Old Bands Coming Out with New Material. I mean, we're talking old bands. Bands you might have forgotten about even. Remember Franz Ferdinand? The band, not the archduke. Well, guess what? There's a brand new song from them on the show today!! And they're not all! We've got Appomattox, Deer Tick, and The Dodos! Very exciting. And as always, don't forget to stop by Facebook and Twitter and follow BTR for all the latest happenings at the station.
I have a seriously sartorial trailblazer for you on today's show: meet designer Courtney Allegra, who debuted her eponymous ready-to-wear women's line at last fall's LA Fashion Week. She's been featured on The Today Show alongside Rachel Roy, appeared in the pages of Seventeen, Girl's Life, Essence, Huff Po, and Avant Garde, and her label has been worn on the red carpet. She's also in high school. On today's show, you'll hear from Courtney about what it's like to launch and run a label at age 16, where she gets inspiration for her bold, fresh, sophisticated-yet-playful designs, and her amazing post-graduation ambitions. Plus, a playlist full of great songs off just a handful of this week's new releases - tracks in the mix from Dent May, The Dodos, Califone, and Franz Ferdinand (they're back!!) So tune in and get ahead of the fashion curb with Sew & Tell on BTR!
