'You're unbelievable! Ohhhhhh!' -- Andrew Dice 'Diceman' Clay on The Rock Show
I can barely believe it’s October!  Summer festivals are just a distant memory, school is in full swing, and open-toed shoes are just about behind us.  But we’re keeping up the warm summer vibes on the Saturday Show with a bunch of great rock and roll for you.  We’ve got girl rockers Ex-Hex, punk rockers Ausmuteants, and Brooklyn weirdos Dinosaur Feathers- all new on the show today!  And don’t forge to follow BTR on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, and SoundCloud!!
It’s Debt Week here on BTR, and while debt is often something to avoid, every now and then it can be a good thing: we can, for example, owe a debt of gratitude to someone who helped us out along the way. This week’s Sew & Tell guests will stand to collect a lot of gratitude in future years - Rosa Thurnher and Regina Weir are founders of Factory Girls, a new fashion incubator in downtown Atlanta that’s working to support the local industry and burgeoning new talent. From studio space to production connections, mentoring relationships to educational resources, Factory Girls offers Atlanta’s design community a wealth of resources that give independent designers the boost they need to get their labels off the ground and into stores. On today’s show, you’ll hear from Regina and Rosa about the evident needs that sparked their concept for Factory Girls, the specific ways in which they support and bolster Atlanta’s independent design community, how they’re able to serve as mentors to Factory Girls’ Designers in Residence, some of the highlights of Atlanta’s contemporary fashion scene, and more. Plus, a playlist with exciting new releases from Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Toronto’s The Rural Alberta Advantage, D.C. punk band Ex Hex, and pop/psych/funk duo Foxygen. So join us today as we learn what it takes to turn a city’s fashion industry into a central creative community, right here on BTR.
Hot new tracks from so many bands, including Ausmuteants, Ex Hex, Foxygen, and more more more!

To celebrate our 50th episode we decided to try something new - a wildcard episode! Today we choose six somewhat random tracks from the last two BTR music updates, listen to them in real time, and discuss the musical elements to the songs. What we liked, what we didn’t like, etc. We’re putting ourselves on the spot with this one, hope you like it!
Spring has sprung! And, thank goodness, so have new albums! We're swimming in new music this week, including my personal favorites, The Hold Steady, plus new tunes from new bands like Ausmuteants and Tony Molina, and more old favorites like Sleepy Sun. Don't forget to check out BTR on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, and SoundCloud!
If you’ve been browsing fashion news on the internet lately, chances are you’ve heard of normcore. This week’s guest is Jeremy Lewis, former trend forecaster and founder/editor of the scholarly new fashion publication Garmento, who contributed his thoughts on the new movement to The Cut’s widely publicized article. On today’s show Jeremy expounds on this sociological trend, sharing his thoughts on anonymity’s place in fashion, normcore’s appeal within our contemporary context, what it means to pursue fashion vs. style, and more. Plus, a great mix of under-the-radar artists in today’s playlist, including garage/psych/punk ensembles Sleepy Sun and Ex Hex, along with upcoming folk group Twin Forks and UK artist Bipolar Sunshine. So grab your most nondescript pair of grey sweatpants, and join us for a look into fashion’s new blank face…
