The year is set to close out with lots of great rock shows happening around NYC. We’ve got a new track called “Sludgefucker” by The Royal They mixed in with music by Crazy Pills and El Silver…
This episode essentially functions as something of an itinerary for this year’s Northside Festival, offering suggestions of artists you can see each night at various venues around town if you’re into some major show-hopping to see and hear as much music as you can.
Clouder is a band that always puts on a memorable live show -- a live show that will likely end with at least a portion of the audience drenched in spilled beer. The band is no stranger to BTR, having stopped in for a couple of studio sessions and played one of our SXSW day parties. It’s been a couple of years since the band has been active, due to the guys moving to far flung locations throughout the country, but with an impending reunion show, we take a look and listen to some music by Clouder and other projects its members are or have been involved in.
Stephen Perry has been a fixture of the local Brooklyn/NYC music scene for the better part of a decade now. His band, The Planes, recently took a year-long hiatus, but is now back strong after playing some shows and putting out a new album called Wax Diamond. Mr. Perry was kind enough to stop by and chat about his personal musical history, from his time growing up on Cape Cod to now, as well as the new album. Additionally, we have new music by The Mad Doctors, as well as all the artists playing their upcoming LP release show at Our Wicked Lady -- Stuyedeyed, The Royal They, and Crazy Pills. And we have new and recent tunes by OxenFree, Lexie Roth, and Peter Silberman to boot. For more on The Mad Doctors, check out the the most recent editions of The Music Meetup podcast and column by BTRtoday’s very own Elena Childers.
