Can you feel the holiday season approaching?  It’s almost here, until then it’s just the middle of November and the end of the week.  Speaking of middle, how about Middle Kids in the middle of the show?
It’s time for another new music catchup episode! We’re checking out tracks from releases new to the BTRtoday music library from the past two months, including some you may have been introduced to on The Music Digest and BTR Live Studio recently.
Jennifer Seastone is a NY based actress and visual artist whose work explores the possibilities of re-forming narrative and  memory. Throughout the conversation Kimberly and Jenny talk about the role of communication and the difficulty of finding a single truth in an overloaded landscape. All images courtesy of the artist
Election results are finally in and they are cause for celebration. 2020 has been a roller coaster, but we have had great music. Lots of tracks from this year including some new music from Mariya May, Gord Downie and Death Valley Girls.
Recorded before the election, here’s more excellent new music for celebration and/or commiseration. Either way, it’s all worth checking out! New tunes from Crystal Canyon, Kairos Creature Club, Airhead DC, Jordana, Lunch Money Life, The Soods, and more. Dig in and enjoy. Please note that the first track in the show, “Crush You” by Crystal Canyon, is mis-introduced as “Turn Blue” due to a mixup with the audio files sent out. Consider it a super secret sneaky exclusive preview of the unreleased track!
Post election and we all need an escape!  Don’t run, don’t hide, don’t scream, don’t yell – just chill and dig in to the 2 hour vibes of Dealer’s Choice this Sunday.  Let’s do this damn thing.
Rubber Band Gun, SUUNS, Songhoy Blues, AMANDALA and more on the show today.
This show comes out on Election Day 2020. Lots of tunes for waiting on a voting line. Music from Ilithios, Weekend Lovers and The Mountain Goats. Mentioned in the show: ACLU info on voter suppression. Divino Niño on BTRtoday.
In this episode, Carlo Minchillo of the Brooklyn Drum Collective joins us to talk about the upcoming record, Live at Our Wicked Lady, featuring Brooklyn bands Power Snap, Catty, Bizarre Sharks, and True Dreams, recorded July 19, 2019 (check out our photos/recap from that show!). Ahead of the October 16th release, we talk about the record, the bands, the show captured in the record, and more about all things Brooklyn music and beyond. We check out two tracks from the live record, and then fill out the episode with some other new releases from the week.
