Happy Thanksgivukkah! I hope you're enjoying a great weekend full of celebrations, food, friends, and family. I have a really fun Sew & Tell for you today: in honor of BTR's Screen Week theme, I thought it would be fitting to take a look at some fashion from the silver screen. Now, fashion in film is a huge, broad topic, so I called in my good friend and fellow sartorially-minded cinephile Anthony Platipodis to help me break it down. Each of us chose a favorite vintage fashion film and a favorite contemporary example, and on today's show, we'll be discussing the style in four movies: "Top Hat," (1935), "Leave Her To Heaven" (1945), "Great Expectations," (1998), and "The Fifth Element" (1997). Plus, I've got some great new music in the mix - fresh tracks from the new solo debut by The Babies frontman Kevin Morby, and Cali garage group Pure Bliss, as well as a track off one of the most critically acclaimed albums of the year to date, Blood Orange's sophomore release "Cupid Deluxe." All that, plus a ton more goodies (some fashion film recommendations from fellow Sew & Tell listeners, a great Thanksgiving leftovers recipe, more gorgeous gift ideas!), so whether you're fighting the Black Friday crowds or curled up at home, tune in and join us for a stylishly entertaining hour here on BreakThru Radio!
Black Friday is a deeply immoral 'holiday.' Instead of shopping for junk, please spend time with your loved ones today! It's the Rock Show on BTR!

Sundays With DJ Drew on BTR
This week we review Cupid Deluxe, an impressive new effort from seasoned producer Devonte Hynes. This is Hynes' second LP under the moniker Blood Orange, but he has released other music through the bands Test Icicles and Lightspeed Champion. Hynes is the also the songwriting and production force behind Solange's album True and Sky Ferreira's hit "Everything is Embarrassing." Cupid Deluxe, released on Domino Records on November 14, is a compositional tour-de-force that somehow remains very modern while touching upon the nostalgia of Prince, the '80s, and R&B -among other elements.
Put on your dancing shoes!
It's a 'Tale of Two Rock Shows' on today's episode... One half is a BRVTAL, In-Your-Face heavy psych incinerator. The other half is a mellow, chill-as-all-get-out space pop set. Which side are you on? Pick one, you coward!

Dancin' time, friends!
Calling all fashion fanatics! It's Fanaticism Week here on the station, and I've got an obsession-worthy guest for you today. Erica Weiner is *the* indie design world darling for vintage jewelry, and her eponymous line is full of quirky re-interpreted deadstock from the 60's and 70's, as well as one-of-a-kind antique pieces. Whether you're in the market for a Deco diamond engagement ring or some awesome wood stud earrings, Erica's got you covered with pieces that will get you compliments left and right (trust me, I have one of her bracelets!) And hey! The holidays just happen to be coming up, so it wouldn't hurt to keep an eagle eye out for an EWJ stocking stuffer or two… On today's show, Erica will talk about the path that took her from Broadway costume design to Brooklyn vintage retail, some of the challenges that face today's jewelry designers who are concerned with issues of sustainability, her fanatic passion for treasure hunting, and more. Plus, a playlist full of your next music obsessions: brand new tracks from Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings, Grizzly Bear, Diane Coffee, The Black Hollies, and more. So if you're crazy about great design, tune in and join me for another Sew & Tell on BTR!
