Bleeding Rainbow
This month we have some sets from BTR's unofficial SXSW showcase, the South By East By West Spring Bash, which took place down in Austin, TX on March 13. We've got three sets from the day for you: Suuns, Bleeding Rainbow, and Radiation City. Enjoy!
It's finally time for the annual Saturday show end of year wrap up! Instead of just doing my favorite songs from the year, I'm doing something a little different. Over the course of three shows I'm going to play all my favorite songs from the year in chronological order of when they were released! That way you can do a mental/musical walk down memory lane of your year. Pretty fun, right? And don't forget to follow BTR on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Pinterest, and Instagram!
It's CMJ week! And BTR has our very own showcase! Make sure to listen to this show, then come to the Grand Victory in Brooklyn tonight at 7 to check out some of the artists from this very show! It's going to be a can't-miss event of CMJ. And as always, don't forget to follow BTR on Facebook and Twitter.
BTR's CMJ party is just one week away!!! That's right, in seven days we'll be partying it up at Grand Victory in Brooklyn with Eula, Eternal Summers, and Bleeding Rainbow. And that's how we're starting off the show today, with a great track from Bleeding Rainbow. Plus, new tunes from Of Montreal, Frog Eyes, and Like Temple. And don't forget to foliow BTR on Facebook and Twitter.
It's Intoxication Week on BTR! On today's show, Medical Director for the Houston Marathon, Dr. John Cianca, explains to us why drinking too much water can be bad even for casual endurance athletes. And later, DJ Jordan chats with Dan Ozzi of the Jaded Punk blog and Noisey, the new music channel from VICE Media, on the current wave of nostalgia intoxicating the pop punk generation.
We are full-on into the summer now, with our 4th of July BBQs behind us. There's an army of good new music on the show today, including a track from Owen, who is of course Mike Kinsella from Joan of Arc and Cap'n Jazz, PLUS a really fun new one from Chicago rapper Serengeti, who often straddles the line between hip-hop and well, pretty much whatever else he feels like. And make sure to follow BTR on Facebook and Twitter for all of the latest and greatest on what's going on at BTR!

Attention BTR listeners, there is a new Alex Bleeker & The Freaks album out, Home Far Away, and I am rejoicing to the the musical powers that be big time. Its lazy, fun guitar tones are just in time for the summer June days that I want to enjoy with as many different members from Real Estate's bands as possible. Also new on the show today are fun tracks from The Mantles and Sonny & The Sunsets. And don't forget to follow BTR on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, and Pinterest to stay up to date on the station!
We're deep into May and warm weather, and we've got the great tunes on the show today to celebrate that. We're playing tracks from Prince Rama and Screaming Females, whom BTR is featuring this week on Live Studio and Get in the Van, respectively. Make sure to check those out, along with BTR on Facebook and Twitter. And stay tuned for new tracks from She & Him, The Child of Lov, and Har Mar Superstar!

This month I finish up my coverage of the BTR SouthByEastByWest Spring Bash, which went down in Austin, TX during SXSW. A full set by The Blank Tapes kicks things off, and then I play a few choice songs by two other bands that played that day: Bleeding Rainbow and Radiation City.

Well, there's a flu epidemic going around, as I'm sure you've heard, and this DJ was not immune!! We're having a sick-themed set with sick songs, but we'll also play all of the great new (and old!) music that you expect from BTR. "I think designers need to be there when the decisions for the first particles are being designed. Not when the fabric is already on the roll, and it's already created, and it already has inherent in it things that can help or not help you." On today's show, I'm joined by fashion designer, artist, professor and innovator Helen Storey. Currently serving as Professor of Fashion and Science at The London College of Fashion, Helen has had an incredible career that began with Valentino in the '80's, led to the development of her own line in the '90s, and now finds her collaborating with chemist Tony Ryan to address problems created by consumer waste, through technologically innovative, elegant solutions. Tune in as Helen talks about her design experiences, the problematic divide between art and science, the creative challenges she faced in designing a collection inspired by embryotic development, and how your jeans can purify the air. Plus, the latest music from Canadian artist Renny Wilson, Philly-based Bleeding Rainbow, Brooklyn's Takka Takka and more. So turn it up and tell your friends - this is one Sew & Tell they don't want to miss!
Tuesday's 90 minute music mix is ready to go! Enjoy tunes from our BTR Discovery Artist of the Week, Kai Brown and much more!
