Happy Birthday BTR! I can’t believe it’s been ten years, and God Bless Weirdmerica has been part of it for nearly seven! I’m very honored to still be serving up all that good weirdness seven years in. Today on the show we’ve got some fantastic newbies, like Swahili Blonde and Native Harrow. Make sure to give BTR a birthday like on Facebook and stick around until Fever Ray at the end of the show!
Happy six year anniversary God Bless Weirdmerica! That’s right; we’ve been serving up all the newest, all the weirdest tunes for you over the past six years. Find something that doesn’t quite fit into any established genre? Things that are unique and live on their own? Then you’ll have found them on this show. We’ve seen so many great artists and great albums, and today I play some of my faves, some that date back all the way to my very first show. So enjoy! Here’s to six more years of total weirdness!
This Saturday we're bringing you a song from the brand new amazing album from Philadelpha's The War on Drugs, plus for comedy friends a brand new song from The Blue Jean Committee aka the silliest band name ever aka Fred Armisen's fake band from SNL. Plus, don't forget to check out BTR on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, and Soundcloud!
Today on the show we of course have some great new, weird songs, but we also have a few wild cards on the show. Like Tim Heidecker's project Heidecker & Wood. The music isn't exactly New Weird America, but I posit that the idea behind it is exactly what the genre is all about. Check it out on the show!
