In a world of rapid one-off single deployment, Diljit Dosanjh releases an old-fashioned full length EP. DJ Rekha selects three of their favorite tracks, and does a side by side comparison of Sukshinder Shinda’s classic tune with his updated version released a mere 17 years later. Plus desi drum and bass and breakbeat vibes in the beyond segment.
The weeks bhangra segment tracks are hip-hop forward. Some subtle, some more obvious, plus a collaboration with Sidhu Moosewala and Amrit Maan. In the beyond portion, DJ Rekha included an ever green folk song with a contemporary spin.
The week DJ Rekha select her recent favorite Punjabi tunes ending the first segment with a classic saxophone laden throwback. The beyond segment takes on dubby tone including a super long track that is worth the listen.
