On today's show we feature brand new music from Agesandages, ASPE, Damien Jurado, Glen Hansard, and more!
It's David and Goliath week here on BTR, which is extremely appropriate, since I would say most of the music we play on the station definitely goes in the David category. It's also the first day of February, which means we're on the long back end of winter! Either way, we've got great music to keep your warm all Saturday long! And don't forget, follow BTR on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, and Soundcloud!

This week on The Hash, DJs Molly and Dane talk about realistic relationships in response to Cosmo's 10 Ways Movie Relationships Aren't Like Real Relationships. Then, the pair discuss what happened when Kevin Smith's misogynistic fan base reared its ugly head. The show wraps up with a conversation regarding rape culture and our children. It's fitness week here on BTR, and I know we're all in that stage of the game where we're wondering if we'll keep our New Year's Resolutions. Well, I answer that question for myself with our first song, and then I play a whole bunch of awesome new ones for you, including tracks from Damien Jurado, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, and newcomers Daytona. And don't forget to follow BTR on Facebook and Twitter for all of the latest updates on the station!
In keeping with BTR’s theme week, I’m delighted to bring you an interview today on Sew & Tell with professional runner Lauren Fleshman, a true talent that bridges both the worlds of fitness and fashion. In addition to being a US Champion and pro athlete, Lauren is many other things: a Stanford graduate with both a BA in Human Biology and Master’s in Education; co-founder of Picky Bars, a new line of energy bars for athletes; a recent addition to the Seattle-based Oiselle running apparel line for women, which Lauren joined after ending a ten-year relationship with Nike; the voice of a popular personal website that answers fans’ questions and offers intimate insight into her running process & lifestyle; and last but not least, a new mom. Join us today as Lauren shares about how she got started running at age 13, the unique relationship she’s forged with indie apparel line Oiselle, a few of her favorite Oiselle pieces for winter training, the brave blog post she wrote about her recent runway appearance, the development of Picky Bars, and more. And as always, I’ve got a great playlist for you with music from Cali artists Mikal Cronin and Kevin Morby, as well as songs off the new releases from Damien Jurado and ASPE. Tune in to this week’s show on BreakThru Radio for a dose of stylish motivation!
