NYC band Activity is a supergroup of sorts, with Travis Johnson, Steve Levine, Zoë Browne, and Jess Rees coming from the excellent bands Grooms, Field Mouse, and Russian Baths. They visited us at Serious Business Music in Brooklyn back before their album came out earlier this year and now we present this second video from their session with us. Unmask Whoever, the debut album from Activity, is available now from by Western Vinyl. Watch our previous video for Activity’s “Earth Angel” and listen to the audio podcast from their session.
Looking back at music from the first half off 2020 that we’ve been enjoying… part 1 of 2!
It’s time for an eclectic two-hour mix of music – broadly in the “indie rock” world for the most part – as we gear up for some more record label features coming down the line. Check out selections from recent label features, new releases, and some tasty finds from the BTRtoday music library, including some usual suspects such as Anna Burch, Waxahatchee, Ghost Funk Orchestra, Jeff Beam, and much more!
It’s been a while since we’ve done a recent music playlist episode, so here it is! Featuring tracks from Activity, Lou Turner, Anna Burch, Deeper, youbet, Kevin Krauter, and more, there’s a lot to love here. Enjoy!
Spring break can still be fun at home! Just turn this mix on and pretend you’re hanging out with your favorite BTR DJs dancing the day/night away. We’ve got a great set.
This week, we’re doing things differently. We have calls from members of the indie music community calling in with their stories of how the COVID-19/Coronoavirus pandemic has affected them and their music, including Henderson Cole of The Alternative, Ciarra Fragale, Kyle Forester, Nehedar, The Planes, and the Brooklyn Drum Collective. Then, we check out brand new music from Worriers, Control Top, Thurlowood, Kyle Forester, Smokey Brights, Yumi Zouma, Activity, Pale Blue, Picture One, and Superorder.
